• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Betcha that title got you wondering???

Here's something I was thinking about and was wondering if anyone here has tried it.

I was thinking of smoking a turkey for a hour or so, just enough to have some nice smokey flavor in the meat and skin and then deep frying till finished cooking.

Let me know your opinions or if you've done this before.

Smo-fried.....I've never done it, but that's not unheard of. I'm sure someone around here can you give you some ideas....Sounds awesome to me, and I've always wanted to try it....

Well if no one has had a bad turn out then I'm going to try it on the 21st. I'll be cooking for a friends' dads birthday party and I'll share my results.

Ive smoked chickens halfway then broasted them and they came out very good but i dredged them first in seasoned flour to crispen them up.

I was just talking about this at work. I was telling some guys thats what I was going to try this Thanksgiving. I always smoke a turkey and fry a few, so I was going to "combine" one.

Geeze, I'm only here less than a month and already someone else has a similar avatar!

I like it, Wicked Too!

We've done it.. someone here has, last year before Thanksgiving.. Im sure the thread is out there.. if not cooked it, i know its been discussed a load of times...

here I go again... i owe a bunch of ya some search links from today. I will try to find the threads.

I've smoked chicken legs and fried them.....great. Always wanted to try it on cornish hens.

The one thing I've had, but never had the b*lls to try myself is deep fried prime rib.

I smofried one last year and it was great. I also did one in the oven and two smoked.(one for a friend) everyone liked the smofried the best. Smoked it for two hours and then fifteen min. in the fryer.
