• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I've seen all this yeah hype about Hatch chiles and want to try some.

Whats the best way to acquire them?

Our Hyvee stores are selling them ... you are in the heart of Hyvee country. Check your local store.

Being a Texan now living in Iowa, I haven't seen the hatch chiles at our Hy-Vee. I live in Fort Dodge. I sure do miss those lovely peppers. Had some hatch chile tacos on my recent trip back to Houston.

Your Walmart super center shows Hatch products online. Younguns Produce roasted/frozen are excellent. If they've got Young Guns Frozen I bet they have or may can get fresh. It's getting late, markdowns to $5 case are not uncommon. Speak to produce manager.

....OR

How far are you from Madison?....they have a killer farmer's market and it wouldn't surprise me at all to find what you need there. I have seen a lady who sells locally grown Grapefruits/Blood Oranges there. Yes, that's right-she had an enormous greenhouse where she grows them and she's working on pineapples I guess now.

Crazy stuff-I've never seen a citrus tree in my life in this state.

At different times the stores in Storm Lake(Walmart, HyVee, and Fareway) have had them. Been told by the people in produce at both Hyvee and Fareway that it is something they can get in if I give them enough notice,

In Ft Dodge Northern Lights has ordered me some unusual(for them) supplies. I dont know on these but it might be worth a shot.

Both Hy-Vee and Fareway in Ames have them. Now that was a week or so ago but worth a try. How far are you from Dubuque, best luck would to be try there. Maybe Wal-Mart?

Awesome! I'll check out the Cedar Falls and Waterloo locations of Hyvee and Fareway.
