Nice buy! For regional comparison I just picked up two packs of select grade Tri Tip at Costco in Fort Worth for $4.99 a pound. OUCH!

Wow! Nice score. If I had a large freezer I'd have to grab a couple of those.

This will teach me to look in newspaper or shop around a bit more as I too just paid $4.99 for two Tri-Tips at Costco. Still cheaper than the $6.99 at Safeway or $7.99 at Mollie Stone.

I don't feel too bad as I still have on in freezer I got from Safeway at $1.99 on sale.

I wish we could get tri tip around here. I just get the blank stare and pointed toward the top sirloin tip.

Yeah I've heard that there are pretty poor choices for meat when it comes to any of the skirts on the internet, let alone the out ones...

The S&F product is a bit on the lean side, I actually prefer the more marbled choice from Costco. But at that price I will definitely grab a couple... :p

Where you from? Do you have a Trader Joe's near you?
Here on the east coast, they're the only ones who carry it regularly.

What are they going for at Trader Joe's? Only place I've been able to get them is Reading Terminal market in center city.

Very tough to come by here in FL also, and not cheap, Seeing as there are only 1 Tri-Tip per side of beef. so 2 per stear.. i put a post on here a while a go with Info to show your Butcher what a Tri_Tip is and where it comes from along with the codes, I guess if ya do a search on Tri_Tip on the site here it should come up..
