• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I have Beef Ribs to bbq this weekend and I was going to review a thread on them I thought I saw awhile back, but I can't find the thread. Give me advice or lead me to the thread please. They were purchased from a butcher and are beautiful. Lay it on me guys.

Thread started on October 1. Titled "beef Ribs"

When ya need to find something top of the forum screen has a search option to search for threads. There is also a search on the home page that searchs the recipes, files and links section. You can use that instead of digging thry posts.

Cook beef ribs same as briskets, the longer the better and always foilem for a few hours. We callem Dinosaur bones.

think they're overdone after being in the smoker for a year. :)

ha.. caught ya.

smoked some last weekend and they are delicious. Just do what the Poobah says and you will be happy with the results.

Beef Ribs, if the cut is done correctly, these are my favorite !! Good luck and happy eating.

I bought a small package yesterday. Would prefer smoking them, but will probably not wait and just broil them.

put on some short ribs this morning with a local rub to try it out, and saved a few to try on the grill later. You DFW farkers may have eaten at N. Main BBQ in Euless. I enjoy the place so I picked up some of their 'hot' rub to try at home. Report later.

Cuts of beef ribs vary greatly, so be careful. I used to get the best ones at a place around here called Larchers, but they went out of business. Haven't found a suitable replacement yet. The short ribs are my favorite. The long ones are the ones everyone calls Dino bones. Whatever you get, go low and slow. May even wish to give them a quick roll on the grill to seal in the juices first, or last to get a char flavor finish with some sauce.

And for God's sake, don't boil those farkers!!!!

I've had some decent results on the grill doing them hot and fast, but I've also have been known to like watching the jockey whip me steak too....

I have heard of people doing that and liking it. There are recipes in BBQ books that say to do it that way too. Never tried it. But it would now be called grilling, not BBQ. Probably good if you did it with the right cut of meat.

I sometimes grill while watching the fire 8) I'll wait for the better half to review the smoked version. They weren't half bad, but then again i'll eat just about anything holding still long enough to get a knife and fork on

N. Main rub was pretty good. A little spicy for the better half. The dogs gave it 2 paws up. Little farkers got to the kitchen and just left me one rib!

They also like baby backs. Brought some home from Railhead just down the road. Answered the door and by the time I got back the ribs were gone and the dalmation had incriminating sauce all over his face.

After some time in Korea I have a recipe that will stop all that meat from disappearing! GRIN Sorry I am a pet lover with a disgusting sense of humor!
