• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was at the grocery store tonight checking out the meat and came across a beef butt at $15.49 a pound. Heck, the chunk I was looking at was 2.6 pounds which came to $40.27

So uh.... what's the deal on beef butt? Is it as good as the price (hard to believe)? I've never heard of it.

I would think that it's comparable to a pork butt; however, the but is from the shoulder area and shoulder roast isn't that expensive.

Oh - I didn't buy it. I had to look at it twice to believe it. They had about 10 of them for sale. I don't see people buying it.

LeBo, The only thing I can think of that makes any sense is that it was the Butt(big) end of a Beef Tenderloin. That cut might be priced at $15 plus in a supermarket.

I gotta agree with qman on this one.

I passed this question on to a friend who's former butcher. He agrees with qman. Butt end of the tenderloin that would normally be cut into filets.

At $15.49/# it had better be good!
