• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm wanting to buy a spray bottle to do some bbq spritzing on pulled pork.
The trouble I have now with a regular spray bottle, is the nozzle keeps getting clogged up. Has anyone drilled the nozzle out a bit..to allow particles to pass through easily? Pro's or Cons?

I spritz apple juice and burbon mix.
Try a kitchen store to see whats available to spray thicker liquid.

Hey VRUM;
I have the same issue but I never thought about drilling out the nozzle - you might consider what exactly is in your spritz - if it contains any sort of fat based ingredient, it may clog the bottle, even if you drill it out...
I just bought some of the spray bottles designed for oil (EVO) - I've got ribs on now, so I'll know shortly if it works...:cool:

If your spritz has much seasoning you're better off just mopping....I've ruined a lot of spray bottles, even fine black pepper will clog the little filter, ...I keep my spritz to just liquids now, anything else gets brushed on.

I agree with Krex1010, if you have spices and/or aromatics in your spritz you will probably clog the sprayer. If that is your problem, Mopping might be a better solution unless you filter out the particles first, which probably would defeat the purpose that they were added for.

if you have seasoning, aromatics, whatever in your spritz, try giving it a quick boil to release its flavors, then strain with some cheese cloth or coffee filters and spritz away.
