I logged on to my Comcast internet account and saw a BBQ quiz. Thinking I at least knew more than your average person, I thought I would give it a go. Some of the questions seemed arbitrary... but I finally quit when asked whether you have to boil ribs first to keep them moist. I answered false and got the question wrong

Thats fantastic.. Whats this world commin to. Im surprised they didnt ask about bbq'ing steaks! haha. Maybe we should all write them a little letter

Well, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought boiling ribs before BBQing/Smoking/whatever you wanna label it was the way our "forefathers" did it for years and years and years.

So while I agree that yes, it is a sin to ribs in this day and age, I get why it's such a commonly accepted "BBQ fact."

My great grand daddy swore by it, my wife's grandpa told her it's the only way to make ribs. Every dang person up in the Maryland area that my wife is related to boils their ribs first. It's not what I call a good rib, but to each their own I guess.

I boiled ribs once a very long time ago... they were hands down THE WORST RIBS I HAD EVER MADE!! I would cook them in the oven before I'd boil em'!

I asked a friend of mine who's a trained chef on how she would cook ribs and she said to boil them first. I didn't ask any her more questions.
