I am going to be in Iowa on a business trip in August. Are there any BBQ joints worth visiting?

xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Don't know about 'cue joints, but after reading the Maid-Rite/Loose Meat threads, I would make a point of finding a Maid-Rite while in Iowa. :mrgreen:

where in iowa? the pit in iowa city pretty decent new place opened in cedar rapids forgot the name and there is al and irenes in cedar rapids

Clones place is in Des Moines. I can't remember the name of it. Also, I think Mike at Hawgeyes still cooks at his shop in Ankeny during the summer months, but you may want to double check.

Nope...the Hawgeyes joint closed last year...FARK! Clone & Shad ( A Boy & His BBQ ) opened up this month on the north side of DSM. Where in Iowa are you going to be & when??? If I can help.........
