• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Picked up a used Bandera a couple weeks ago and i got to start putting it together today. In the list was:
  • Fire brick for the firebox and cooking chamber
  • Baffle for the firebox opening
  • Charcoal basket (ring)
  • Gasket for the firebox and cook door

Got everything done but the gasket which I wasn't able to find locally.

Funny part was I called a couple places for fire brick. One was way south and cheap. The other was closer but $.50 more. Forever the salesman I was able to talk the closer one to splitting the difference with me for split fire brick. I was expecting 2"x8" pieces which is what I measured for. Instead they were 4"x8" and I didn't quite fit the way I wanted. But I have extras and it's kind mostly done the way I want.

Here's the basket I made:

The cooking chamber. This is where the brick isn't quite done. The bolts for the baffle were a b**** to get out.

Not pictured: I replaced the thermometer as well. The other one was junk.

And if anyone has any idea why my pics are getting rotated let me know!

Nice remodel. If you are using an Apple iPhone or iPad hold the unit with the home button at 3 o'clock not 6 to take the picture
