• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I am in the process of building another backyard smoker. 18x36 cooking chamber and 18x19 firebox(round). All 1/4inch thick pipe. off of the same pipe I made mine. In the air right know about doing reverse flow. Probably will. Will have 1 rack in it. And a charcoal basket. I am planning on selling this one to make some money for a Stumps clone. Thoughts?

Cool!! I love a backyard build. Keep the pics coming.

heres my take on reverse flow in this application. Just my $.02.

the pits only 18 inches wide, the reverse flow plate will have to be pretty high up the sides to allow airflow underneath.. unless you mount the firebox VERY LOW on the chamber, and then you cut down the side of your opening. The plate that goes across the bottom to direct heat to the other side, may wind up being to close to the food grate. It may become hot enough over an extended cook, that it may cause somewhat of a grilling effect.

This is why u dont often see tuning plates in pits under 20 inches..
