• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just a head's up for folks down here in brisket country. I was just in my local Wally's and they had Swift prime packers and CAB choice packers mixed in with their standard fare select packers. I spotted at least 5 prime and 3 or 4 choice CABs along with maybe 10 selects.

The kicker is all were priced at $1.97/lb. I picked up a nice 14.5 lb prime with beautiful trim job, nice thick flat, and really bright white fat cap. Sorry, no pics, too tired to break out the camera right now.

I can't go. The last time I bought too many. Plus I have 5 still in the freezer. I would definitely fill the freezer if I had the room.

wife picked up 3 choice from Wally's for $1.50 /lb....serious

guess what I'm doing this weekend?

Thanks El Ropo! I will go by early tomorrow.
I just put an elk in my freezer yesterday, but I can fit 1 or 2 briskets in too.

I live in Texas but it's 515 miles to Sugars from where I live. But I have two Walmarts within 5 mi. I'll check tomorrow.

I can honestly say I'll never purchase meat from "Wally's". Just too many bad experiences.

I generally agree. We almost never ever buy meat from there. Overpriced, way over enhanced and just not good. However, I have bought briskets from Wally's and they were pretty good especially at that price.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I too stocked up a couple weeks ago. Bought six very nice packers from Albertsons, $1.99/lb, all over 16 lbs....and those were on the small side. Even saw a 22 lb'er ! Good sign that beef prices finally trending down, consistent with what I've been reading.

The WM here has ungraded briskets for 2.44lb but I picked up a choice packer in Albuquerque last week for 1.97lb. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to make pastrami again or go with the brisket on the PBC. I will probably wait and buy an ungraded one for the pastrami.

You have to ask the butcher here for a packer or go to RD. Walmart doesn't carry em here.

You make me curious about the 2 closest stores. Since I have to go to one of them I will check them out.

I really wish the Poobah would let us use a middle finger emogee....

Farking Texans...:tsk:

You just need to be a little creative.
