• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I've got 20 pounds of pulled pork in individual 2 pound bags that I put in the fridge overnight. I think that because they were sitting one on top of the other one, the middle of the bags was only at 47° this morning. I know 40-140 is the danger zone and I should just toss them? Right? Yes.

It's so frustrating after doing so much work to come up empty-handed. It was my mistake, I usually put them in an ice bath. I just had too much else going on last night. That's not a good excuse to possibly get people sick.

Just needed to tell someone who might understand. Argh......

*I'd* probably have eaten it. Would not have served it to others, though. Good call.

Sorry to hear this.

Yup - when in doubt, throw it out. Like NTG said, I probably would have eaten a little myself, but I definitely wouldn't serve it to others.

And what was the lesson learned? Don't stack hot food to cool. Thin layers, preferably in front of the condenser dan, is the quickest way to cool in a reefer.

Oh...and don't feed suspect food to your dogs.

i feel ya. i lost two whole butts once due to me being an idiot and danger zone concerns. however i know i made the right decision in not serving even though they were most likely fine.

I'd eat it. If you heat it again, you will kill some bacteria.
If you really heat it, I'd assume you'd kill all.
Some people have stronger stomachs than others, there is NO
way around this. Thankful I can eat anything.
