• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I have a Bandera but I've never smoked ribs in it. We're going to have a little PorkFest this weekend and I've got three racks of baby backs that I want to smoke.

How long should I expect it to take at 225-250? Sorry if this is a FAQ, I'm new to this.

3.5-4 hours if u wrap, 4.5 -5 hours if u dont and temps stay closer to 225. i use the middle shelves immediatly ABOVE or below the door latch.

I agree with Phil, except with most things Q, err on the long side. I would plan for 5 hours unless they are particularly small.

4 hours almost always does it for me, I foil and use a 2-1-1 method. for a comp I put them on different racks because of the heat difference and pick the rack that has the best feel to it for the turn in.

4 hours here also. 2-1-1 method works best for me. Don't forget to load them on the left side if you haven't done the baffle mod yet.

Thanks for the tips guys, I've got a temporary foil baffle that I'll be using until I can get a permanent one. The weather is not looking good for this weekend so I might have to postpone but I'll pop back in and let y'all know how it went.

Success

The weather held out and it did not rain....I not only had a successful BBQ but my guests were able to enjoy the pool.

The ribs turned out pretty good, I used a rib rub and then put on some sauce in the last hour or so. The Bandera will do ribs nicely and I'm looking forward to smoking some more sometime soon.
