• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Looking for new cookware, I’m over cast iron, and non-sticks gotta go. I want ceramic lined and I’d prefer USA made and these are from Wisconsin.

Anyone have them?

Why over cast iron if u don’t mind me asking

A 12" Lodge cast iron weighs about 7.35 lbs( I've never seen a 12" cast iron pan that weighs 22 lbs). That steel pan weighs 5.59 lbs. The pan he's looking at weighs 3.3 lbs. I'll agree on the price part. but I bought 2 steel pans thinking they would be less weight and care, but they are not. You still have to season them and then care for the seasoning same as cast iron and they aren't that much of a weight savings.
I'm in the same boat looking for a couple different pans. I'll be watching this this thread closely.

I know it’s not what you're looking for, but you can buy 3 of these for the cost of 1 of those. Similar results as cast iron but a third of the weight.

Thought about them but they require the same care as cast iron, I’ve just decided to move on from them.

I do, their saucier, love it. Used it last night. Amazing design and quality.

I have their stainless steel skillet used for a variety and a non stick smaller skillet I use mostly for eggs. They are every bit as good as the All Clad stuff I have. I also have a Made In carbon Steel Wok that is my favorite piece of cookware I own. It’s awesome.

How is it caring for the carbon steel. I've been thinking about getting the Made In carbon steel pans.

Easy, treat it like cast iron. After I use it I wash it out with water only then put back on the stove for a bit with some heat and wipe a thin coat of oil on it. I do have one of those stainless steel chain links to get stubborn food off when cleaning which is used occasionally.

No sir
Good collection of cast iron
Skillets, griddles, Dutch Oven etc
Stainless Pots various sizes
Sam's Non stick 2 sizes
3 Magnaware like Cajuns use

I've always thought it would be cool to have a top shelf quality matching set. Minimalist, even.

What you're looking at fits the bill.
Buy it right once. Look forward to your review.

I'm not destitute but here's what we use. Replace every 18-24 months

My son swears by this

None of mine linked above fit your Made In USA. But it's fun to discuss

I'm on a carbon steel binge myself these past couple years....

I got on the Made In email list and late last year...they had a 'blemish' sale....SIGNIFICANT price drop and I got the CS Wok and the larger CS skillet by Made In.

I must admit so far, impressed. The handles are a bit larger and longer and more curved than I'm used to....and that 12" skillet is heavy.

I wish I'd paid the little extra and gotten the 10" (I already have other 12" CS skillets).

I've had All Clad for decades for my SS clad cookware, and it never wears out. I use carbon steel these days for most everything that does NOT involved acids....I use the All Clad SS for that.

That all being said, if you have your mind set on the ceramic stuff....while I've not tried theirs, I should think it would be of good quality....the CS stuff really seems good.

I like their knives too, I'm waiting to catch a good sale on their Nakiri knives and get one of those....

I have a lot of Made In stuff. Started out with a set and have been adding on. I have no stick, stainless, carbon steel and a couple knives. It's very nice stuff!

I must say though, I got a Smithey pan for Christmas and frying eggs in it is as easy as my Made In non-stick pans!

The local ACE carries Smithey in store, I have to say once I picked it up it was hard not to buy. I had to keep telling myself “you’ve moved on from cast iron, you’ve moved on from cast iron”

Cadillac of cast iron! Them and Butter Pat but I understand YETI bought Butter Pat and pulled it all off of the market. Prolly going to come out with a full line at some point.

Thanks for all of the Made In feedback so far!

Smithey really is beautiful stuff! You'd be very happy with Made In products as well.

Although I do not currently own any Made in products, I expect to in the future. I have received two sizes of Vermicular pans as gifts. They are lightweight cast iron, and I enjoy using them.https://www.vermicular.us/shop/oven-safe-skillet?product=7849330082009&variant=43267354558681
