Anyone else up cooking? 3/10/07

Got a small gig coming up, but needed to cook on the weekend. I've got 6 butts in the 'dera and 2 in the Kingsford........Grand daughter and I rubbed everything up last night, and I got up at 3AM to start the fires. Meat is on by 4:30AM...I'm gonna cook a little hotter than normal because of the volume of meat....pics to follow as soon as the rest of the household is up.....

It's mornings like this one that really makes me miss KC Scott. We'd talk ahead of time about our weekend cooks, then either keep each other company on the cell phone, Yahoo chat, or here on the forum once we got started....we'd talk everything from cooking to solving the world's problems...he was a great guy, I miss him, don't do a cook or a competition now that I don't think of him.....I'm so glad he was a part of my life.......

I'm up but I won't be cooking till later on after the rain stops. I have a 13# packer all ready prepped in the fridge. Figure I'll get it in the 'dera by noon along with some pig candy and a fatty or two.

I think a bunch of the brothers may have thier comp. meat on in NKC as well.... I'm jones-in':twisted:

yep there is a big parade here today as well as some serious smoken happening here in NKC.
fixin to load all the kids in the truck and head out. i have never been to a comp. is it cool to take my camera?

Here's a pic of the grands and myself rubbing up the butts last night. The oldest is my kid Q competitor....she hung right in there while we rubbed up 8 butts, took us almost 2 hours.....

Got 3 racks of back ribs on and going to put a fattie, meatloaf, and some butt steaks in the spicewine in a couple of hours. Butt steaks are underated imho. If cooked right, they are great. Also cooking thighs. Practice practice.

I recognize every ingredient on your table, but for the life of me can't figure out what that is your drinking in that funny looking yellow squueze bottle?

Is it kids juice or something? Bleach for clean up?
