• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Which model ? The C-450 or the C-750 ? Not that much cooking surface area for the money...

Here's something to consider.... For $650-$800, you can get three or four WSM's and have more cooking space, long burn time etc.

Was thinkin of the 570 or 680, both are plenty big enough for me, and would give me room to grow on and learn more. Plus it looks like I can add a rack and get more space for stuff like ribs etc. I am pretty kn ow to this so the pellet burners seem like the easiest for me to get up to speed with. I will likely eventually end up with several pieces of equipment but wanted something like this for starting, make sense?

The pellet concept is totally new to me so it would depend on smoke flavor from the pellets as opposed to wood or charcoal. The cost of the smoker and then fuel/pellets would be my next deciding factor. There are times when "new" is not better. Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't have a pellet cooker buut I know a lot of people who use them and swear by them. I guess if you have the money to spend why not get a Traeger?

That was my first choice but I was told this was a better choice because it could get hotter then the Traeger if I wanted to grill on it as well, plus it has more surface area for the price.

There are suppose to get to 600 degrees so you can use them as a grill. There a couple hundred less for equivilannt models. I should see one here in a week or two. HoDe may know more.

what is the cost for them I could not find it. they look pretty sharp I would be interested in one.

I am looking at the whole hog cooker from this company. One of my fellow CBBQA members Larry Hill, had one at the Autry. He was breaking it in there. They do get hot, he was seasoning the Whole Hog and it got so hot it started to melt the rubber impellers that feed the pellets into the fire box. That was the only draw back I saw. It caught on fire, but danged if the sucker still did not work. Have not talked to Larry since the Autry, will see him at Best Dam BBQ in Boulder City at the end of this month, looking forward to see how he feels about the unit now that he has had some time to cook on it. It would be great for our competition needs. The Darkside is where its at, I love my Traeger 075's!
