Another Florida BBQ Thread - Sarasota

We are heading to Sarasota next week to meet some family coming up from Cape Coral, Florida. Scouting out some local BBQ on Google Maps, I found Sonny's and Woody's... chain BBQ. Then there's Kay's BBQ and Oaks Open Pit which has a couple of good reviews.

Anyone been to any BBQ joints in Sarasota?

I've been to the original Sonny's in South Miami. :icon_sleepy Not impressed.

Sonny's isn't too bad, but the Miami store is/was not the original!! But, I digress...I don't know of any great joints down that way, however, get by Columbia restaurant for some great Cuban food...also, look for the small fish market/restaurants...good eats!!

Yes, we've done the small fish shops there before. Excellent. I got the wrong info on Sonny's. Thanks.
