• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

This was cheating, but it was good! My wife bought a cryovac of pre-marinaded Carne Asada at Trader Joe's. It held four nice slices of skirt steak in a spicy marinade. I grilled it over a hot fire and we sliced it and ate it fajita-style along with some grilled sweet peppers and onions, refried beans, guacamole, salsa and sour cream. The Carne Asada from Trader Joe's was actually very good. I would buy it again for a quick, tasty meal.

The only downside was the whole wheat tortillas that my wife bought  I would have preferred corn tortillas.

It think I've had that from Trader Joe's as well. Good stuff.

I've tried the unmarinated Tri-Tips they sell too. Last time I made it was as Willie B's and I gave it a heavy coating of Willie's Cajun rub before it went into the smoker closest to the firebox.

Ron, that looks great! I tried the costco's ready made- "carne" and it was pretty bland as is... yours look really juicy!

Man I have to skip the post with porn while at work. Only vending machines here, and if I want to risk life and limb a 24 hour Subway.

LOVE skirt steak.

Another easy prep method is to simply grill as above serve it with homemade chimichurri, black beans and rice.

Ron, can you get flour tortillas that you have to grill yourself? Makes a world of difference. Down here I can buy them in a bag with each tortilla seperated by a sheet of plastic wrap. Toss them on a hot griddle cast iron skillet and they come out fresh and tasty, and make a huge difference.

We may be able to. There are a large number of mexican markets in the area. My wife is on this whole wheat kick. Whole wheat bread, whole wheat buns, now whole wheat tortillas

What are the odds of you and Willkat coordinating schedules? If you guys can do that, I can send you something for a micro-bash....including meat.

We've been trying to get together since our lunch around Christmas

Maybe this will be enough incentive...

Bill?

Bill is shy, everybody has figured that out:wink:

Seriously, if you guys can find a time to get together I'd love to send you some of those tortillas and a few other things. No farking around, I swear!
