• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

A Jaccard is mine-mine-mine now!

Best price I could find anywhere for the 48 blade version was about $33+ with shipping.
I learned from HOO and snipped this one off EBay for $29.05 delivered

This little gadget does wonders for poking holes in meat to let marinades and stuff in.
HINT--do not Jaccard and then inject--Funny (and messy) results

Those needles are wicked sharp and thin

I have had on since 1998 and just love it. It is possible to over use it and make mush. FYI

I got mine as wedding gift from chad.

i learned the hard way not to jackard a brisket, and then try to inject it. DUHHHHH.

As far as steaks go, never do a fillet, do one pass on a shell(strip), and 2 passes on a london broil. Otherwise it turns into hash. I did a few passes to a shellsteak when i first got it and the texture was crap when you ate it.. turned mealy and mushy. Wrecks havoc on a chicken cutlet too. Just gotta be careful with it... And most important, if you think of something while your jackarding.. dont hit yourself in the forehead with it.

"Shower MOD" for sure

Actually a "kinda pretty" show--but really messy

Do not ask me how I know that

I am just looking for a light application to some steaks and other things to help the flavor penetrate. Also, I have seen where it is only used to 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep just to help marinade penetration a bit.

Just one more tool in the arsenal

And, I love toys

I love using it on Chuck steaks. Don't even need to marinate. Hit 'em with Kosher salt & pepper then a couple passes with the jaccard and you're ready for the grill in a jiffy.

I also have a single row jaccard.Works good on ribs.Just hit it once between the bones.

For all of ya with Jaccard envy And an Academy Sports near you they've got the best prices I've seen on them. ~$20! And to think I paid retail from Jaccard years ago.

Got mine at Academy for $19.99 (American).

Wife says it might useful sometime when I least expect it.

Was the $19.99 for the 16 blade or 48?? Just curious -- I got mine several years ago and went for the 48 blade from Chef's Depot - I forget what I paid but it was less than most retail stores.

I think I need to go get a new toy! Looks like it works really well.

48 blades of tenderizing steel, Count Chadoogle.

Sharp little beggars too.

Did a price verification on Friday.

$19.83 everyday at Academy.

You brethrens and brethrenettes that desire a 48 blader and live (relatively) near an Academy - get while the gettin's good.

Less than $20 at Academy here in Austin!

I got one a couple of years ago that has Mr. BBQ name on it for around $20.

We do the draw numbers for male & female gifts at the in-laws. My wife commented last night that a tenderizer would be a good male gift. Thanks for the tip re: Academy.

I picked one up a few months ago at K-Mart for 9.95, its not a Jackard, its BBQ Pro but it does seem to work really well. I'd bet Wal-Mart or similar stores have their own brands too.
