• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I used up the last of my supply of "flavoring" wood last weekend. Usualy I go to the local big box store and pick up a 25 or 50 lb bag but they are out of wood chunks for the season :( I have plenty of Ash to use for heat but need some for flavor.
I was getting ready to buy some over the internet when I started to think (doesn't happen often.)that maybe someone here would have some extra wood that they would sell me. I wood  rather give my money to one of you rather than some stranger who is just out to make a buck.

I am looking for: Cherry, Peach, Hickory, Pecan, or Apple. Would like between 25 to 50 lbs of fist size chunks or bigger.

If you have any you want to sell please pm me with details on price and shipping.

I get New Braunfels chunks, pretty much fist size, in 3/4 cubic foot bags for like $8 at Home Depot.

Can get the same in 50# sacks at Menards

(Talking Hickory here)

Can you get this Midnight?

You shouldnt have waited till you ran out.

You have 4 more posts till 200 which is usually a "show me your wood" type event anyway.

I think I have your address. Let me see what I can dig up

My local Menards used to carry 50lb bags of hickory, but they didn't get ANY this year?!#*@ I was able to get them on sale for $10 last year.

Midnight,
Sorry for the delay--just got back from big trip with no internet.

You list hickory--don't have hickory but I have all the Primo Oak you could want! Any I send will have the "Date of Death" so you know how long it has been seasoning.

I shipped to Big Al in CO and it cost about 66 cents/pound.

If you want it, I will send you all the Oak you want for just shipping cost.

Check USPS and UPS on-line for estimates from ZIP 32446. Look at 30 pound box rates.

OH YEAH, I also want a 8X10" picture of the Midnight Smoker to admire- I am still jealous!!!!!!!!

Let me know.

TIM

To bad you don't live nearby. I just gave rfmann about a cord. I've got plenty alder and maple. Lots of cherry too. When you going to be out this way?

Judging by your avatar, it looks like you got some viagra action happening along your left pants leg.

I am a year late. I was out that way last summer, went to Oregon to do some fishing (sea sick mod  )

Maybe I can get some Alder chunks from you, I always wondered what it would taste like on salmon or chiken.

Don't know, I always use it to smoke with. Although I guess you could get your roughage out of it. I prefer garlic on chicken and dill weed on salmon.

farking funny...

I use alder for everything. It's mild compared to the little bit of oak I've got, but it's free for the cutting and it splits well.
