Marinaded in 1 C Soy Sauce, 1 C EVOO, 1 Head of garlic finely chopped, 1 Onion cut in half and sliced. All into a zip-lock bag with the Tri-Tip, into the fridge for 3 days turning every 12 hours.

Egg @ 400+ for the sear.

Seared for 4-min a side.

Then on a raised grid for 12-min. a side @350*

That looks amazing! That picture of the first slices on the cutting board is making my mouth water.
Not sure if I've ever seen tri-tip anywhere in Central Connecticut before. I asked the butcher once and he said it was a west coast thing.
Maybe time for a new butcher?

I spoke to my butcher here and they said tri tips were special order. They do have them at Costco, but they are Mortons and already marinated. Really good, but I like to do my own marinades.
