• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Contest Results 19th Annual Boone's Lick Trail BBQ Contest

Skip, good reply. You did a good job and I enjoyed judging at your table. I just had to reply since it sounded like we didn't do our job.

I really try to do the best job I can when judging because I do know how hard the teams have it and just one bad score can ruin a good thing.

See ya down the road.

Congrats to Border War Smokers on GC!

I too had a hard time hearing with the baby contest going on at the same time.

Clint you did awesome! I was surprised as anyone when they called our name for RGC and Best in Boone County. I thought you had it for sure.

Very hot contest and alot of great teams congrats to everyone who participated!

When I walked up to awards , I knew we wouldn't get a call because nothing turned out right all weekend. Our food wasnt were it was supose to be for a lot of reasons.
I posted earlier about the appology because i thought it was very strange they did that, not because I thought we had poor judging.. I have never seen that before

Before awards we had heard that a judge was handing out 4s like Halloween candy so we didn't know what to expect. We thought the apology was awkward and I don't think Aimee really needed to do it. After looking at all the scores, it appeared there was one judge, maybe two, that was scoring a lot lower than the rest. Fortunately for us, we must have missed that table. I feel bad for any team that landed there though.

Congrats Ron and Chris on your GC...and for making the top 25 TOY in chicken, coming in at 18. Awesome job all year in chicken.

Congrats to all the Brethren that walked in Columbia.

I agree with Kick. If KCBS would rate their Judges like the FBA, the Judging would fall in line. In the FBA if a Judge is consistantly giving out low scores, they are asked to re-take the Judging class or resign from Judging. As for Boone County, there is no reason to hand out 4's like it's a free lunch. I didn't get any of those 4's, but had a Certified Judge stop by afterwards and tell me that he was at the table with those Judges and they were not justified in their scoring. Don't get me wrong! I'm not sour grapes, but I do feel like there needs to be a change in KCBS Judging.

And Ralph, we appreciate you!
Like I said, what I heard was hear say ,like Rob...Jay heard it direct....Skip, Jay and I, along with others, help with the judging classes held here in town....all the meat is prepared by one individual, only the presentations change, with some entries getting some sauce to change it up a bit....I've seen some of these 4's given at class in taste and tenderness at the same table as 8s are given....makes you wanna go.."hmmmmmmm" LOL
