smokehouse black pepper

Found this stuff at the grocery store yesterday and it got me to thinking of the homemade Montreal-style steak seasoning I make... I've never tried smoking it to add more flavor, but after seeing this I think I may try to. Has anyone ever smoked any seasoning besides salt? Anyone tried this...
