• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

    I belong here....

Hello All, I grew up on a small ranch in western Canada. Even though I had ready access to beef, I never really learned how to cook it. Recently a friend of mine, who is big into Q, had me over for some brisket and burnt ends. One bite, and I immediately decided I'm going to learn how...

A Gracious Good Morning to y'all

Howdy! I've George Van Wagner, aka GVDub, and I've been grilling, in one fashion or another since I was a kid back when TVs only had 13 channels, and most of them were static. I'm also a guitar-playing musician, recording engineer, producer, songwriter, half-assed music journalist and writer of...

    New Member from Maryland

Hello all, Slime checking in here from Kensington, MD. I'm relatively new to smoking, been putzing around on extremely cheap equipment for a few seasons and then on a converted Weber Kettle for the past year or so before I converted to the big dog pictured below. I live and smoke in KC – born and raised in Iowa

 Greetings brethren. I came into my initial love of bbq when I picked up a side job at Battle's Barbeque summer after graduating from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Hello from Iowa! Somewhat new to smoking (10 months). My parents gave me an ECB they picked up from someone who was giving it away. After fighting the darn thing to maintain a decent temp unmodified. I lurked quite a bit on various BBQ forums and the YouTubes on how to modify and tweak my ECB @...

    Hello from Ellicott City, MD

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Ellicott City, MD, though I have lived almost my whole life in Northern Virginia. I am a fairly new to barbecuing and smoking, having recently purchased an Akorn grill, though I have enjoyed eating BBQ as long as I can remember. I have looked all...

    Hey! from Yankee territory

[Thought I just made this thread, but I don't see it. If I screwed up because I'm new and don't know what I'm doing yet, I apologize.] Greetings from NJ everyone! I'm really glad I found a group like this to join. I've grilled all me life, but I've spent the last few years getting into...

    Greetings

I have recently joined the Brethren after reading your posts for about a month. I am an enthusiastic cook who enjoys both grilling/smoking outdoors as well as tackling my own version of haute (read hoity-toity) cuisine for my friends and family. I read many different weblogs about food and...
