Happy Monday, folks!
Mother Nature's been drinking again, and it went from a high of 86F on Sunday to a high of 58F today.
Had a hankering for some more traditional barbecue, so I convinced the Boss to grab a rack of baby backs for tonight's dinner.
Hit 'em with a base layer of Naturiffic...
Plenty of 3 yr old Shenanigans. Don't worry. Gotcha covered.
Busy day on Friday: I gave more Ground Training for 3 separate upgrade courses... had a meeting about Link-16, but I managed to steal away to grab groceries at a reasonable time. The Commissary had a nice set of baby backs.

So, Saturday was above average ;)

Long story short, I'm never buying babybacks from Costco again. I've used them in the past and they have either been tough, salty or mealy. I thought, hey maybe it's me...I'm not perfect and chalked it up to a bad cook---it happens!:drama:
After yesterday's debacle, I'm ready to say "it's not...
Cooked a couple racks of baby backs & a small batch of pig shots in the LBGE for a Super Bowl party.
Ribs were rubbed with Oakridge Secret Weapon and sauced with Rob's Frog Sauce:

This weekend, I am entered into my first-ever rib competition :boxing: at the campground (after winning...
Last time I smoked baby backs I used a different process than normal. In my wrapping foil the ribs made a great juice which I saved and thickened up and used as sauce on the side from ribs. Wondering how how yall thought these turned out and if yall would recommend using the juicings as a sauce...
I liked Franklin's dry rub on his ribs, so had to test it myself. Ofcourse I changed the recipe.
Hope you enjoy it!

Tried a new rub on some baby back ribs last Saturday. Trying out the rub before July 7th party I'm smoking 6 racks of ribs.
I found out quickly I had way to much black pepper in the rub :flame:. Other than that it was good.
Need some advice for smoking Baby Back Ribs. I normally do spare ribs and don’t foil.
I’ve been smoking on a UDS for about 1 year now. I bought a 18.5 WSM. I’m going to smoke 2 racks of BB ribs for the 1st time this weekend with some wood chunks, Kingsford blue and use Chris Lilly’s Memphis...
We are vacationing this week (Thanks for buying my Performer, Parrothead) at our camper in Green Lake, WI. We have a tradition of eating meals with a neighbor couple, and I promised baby backs this week (he is smoking a bunch of lake trout as I type this).
I like the ribs last time I did a...
Well,
I finally fired up the smoker this weekend and made a couple of racks of Baby Backs.
NOTES
I have not yet installed the extension to the smokestack
I have not yet obtained a "real" charcoal box
I did turn over the cooker box charcoal pan (as a diffuser, as suggested)
It was raining on...
