Gotta toot my own horn a bit
Our local 4H fair did their BBQ Cookoff today. I'm glad to say that me and the family participated in it. The weather was pretty bad, so no pics. Didn't want to get the camera out of the truck with the torrential downpours we had.
Came in 1st place in my first competition. Granted, there were only a few teams and it wasn't really all that organized, but a big hell yeah anyway  The fair provided each team with 2 5lb pork loins to do up any way we wanted. Had about 4 hours before turn in. So I grilled up some medallions from one for the public choice vote and smoked the other over some apple for the judging. Very pleased with the results, and I couldn't have done it without everything I learned on this site. |
