nope.. waste of paint... and I dont think the fumes of the paint burning off would be good going into the cooking chamber.

I never painted the inside of the fire box.

I agree that the fumes can't be good for the food or you.

Yes. The manufacturer. I don't remember their paint stinking up my food either. lol

I actually use Rustoleum...it goes well with my Kingsford lighter fluid......

Here is my .02 cents worth, I can't beleive that any mfgr would paint the inside of the firebox.

As per Dave Klose's website, spray with pam heavily, start with a low smoke, bring it up slowly and shut it down and do this repeatedly as it will coat the entire smoker with a good first cure.

If there is combustion, then there must be water...

add oil...burn..still water..
