Default Electric smoker conversion?

I have a chance to get this electric smoker. Brand new in a box. Cheap! Was thinking that I could put a fire box on it and have a small insulated smoker. What do you all think?

I think you keep it the way it is and use it to cold smoke cheese and other items...

I would have to agree. I have this same smoker and it works great for salmon and jerky, but I don't think it would do that great with a fire box added.

I agree with the rest of the gang on this. Keep it for what it is.
Look for a cheap GOSM, Brinkmann or Smoke Vault and then get a Char-Griller side firebox to play with.
