Folks,

I have seen the distribution posts and other things related to hooking up more than one "accessory" connector (to replace small bottles with hoses for your lantern, stoves, etc.).

I am also interested in splitting the feed at the tank in order to connect 2 standard propane devices (turkey fryer, BBQ grill, weeb burner, etc.) I have the new OPD tank threads that take the plastic "collar"-type connections from the devices.

Any ideas? I have Googled until I am blue in the face.

Thanks!

Maybe call a propane/gas dealer in the area and ask them if the animal even exists. Only help I can give ya.

Oh and if you keep goggeling until your blue in the face you will go blind.

I went to the propane supplier and got an old style splitter with a new style end and then went to the RV supply and got two old to new style adapters that screw in for about $90. I looked for about a week and couldn't find anything else.

You were probably just searching under the wrong name. At work we call them Y's. You can get female ends or male ends depending on what you want to connect. You can also get the quick disconnect ends too, which are really handy and save tangles. Be sure and check if any of your propane items need regulators as they may have to be installed on the specific distribution line. You can also get a valve on one of the branches too.

A good place to start is a propane dealer (or welding shop) that sells propane accessories. They can build about anything you want. If you want more than two ends, they can make a manifold which has an in-line tee and several fittings. These places also can lengthen the hoses on your stuff too. I have a 20' hose on my weed burner, it is really handy.

????

Any gasser place will sell this. Gas grills with Side burners use them. Its a simple T connctor with 2 hoses, one for the grill, one for the sidecar.

Try Jenair down on Main street and 111 or that appliance place across the street.

Thanks but I think I need to clarify:

I would like something that can connect two turkey fryers with the plastic EZ cuffs, for example, to one Tank.

Something that would look like this. A "Tee" with two brass receivers for 2 EZ couplers.

I will try calling some of the distributors. Thanks!

That's it but I guess I have to build it. Bummer.

That is what the pic I posted is. I run my grill from one side and then if I bring the turkey fryer of the coleman hot plate I run thay from the other coupler. I know exactly what you want because this is what I had to do to come up with the same thing. Got all that?:biggrin::biggrin:

I guess a safety valve between each connection would be a good idea, though? I could just see it now...

Honey, can you light the charcoalin the Performer for me?

Hmmm...did I disconnect the turkey fryer???

BOOOOOOOM!!!

Both of my tanks have the old inside threads and the new outside threads. My weed burner threads inside and the Turkey fryer threads outside on the same tank. One is a new tank I just bought and one is a couple of years old but both have the OPD.

I have a Y connection that I made for my tent trailer. It looks like thirdeyes but with different connectors. I was able to get all the parts at my local ACE Hardware that sells Mr. Heater fittings. The connector fittings on the trailer are the type that fit disposable propane tanks and I can run my Norcold freezer and a grill/ stove off the trailer. Using their parts you can customize any setup.

Hope this helps, I'd take a pic of mine but its in the popup trailer.

BOOOOOOOM!!!

The safety valve is already in the tank adapter for the new style connector and it screws into the old stle threads. No extra safety valves required. look at my pic closely and those 4 items are all that you need.

I ended up with three of the old style ones (keep forgeting I already bought one/ can't find the darn things). Holy fark, why in the he** don't they just make one that has the new threads on it.(rant over- I'm really not bitter about it)
