Default Grilling on UDS

Just finished up the build and tried steaks for the first time. Charcoal basket is a metal bucket and designed the UDS to have the top of the bucket 1/2” below the top grate for grilling. Best t-bone I’ve ever had!

That's a good idea. What kind of bucket is it?

Yeah, I'd like to see how you have that set up so your bucket is so high.
And good job on the T-Bone!

I looked all over for a non-galvanized bucket to make a coal basket from. Could not find one. Anyone know of a source?

Vestil PAIL-STL-RI Steel Open... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052P2GIC?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf I didn’t buy the UDS Parts bucket. Bought the one in the link above with a Weber 7439 grate. The bucket is 13.5” tall so I measured down 14.5” from the top bolts and put a 3 bolt level there that you can move the bucket to for grilling.
