After a few test fires, it was time yesterday to run some meat through the new pit!

Tri Tip came out a little more done than I wanted, but it was tender and had great flavor:

Overall I am really liking this pit, it holds gret temp across the cooking surface.

Be sure and hydrate properly during these hot months!

Thanks for looking!

That's a hell of a first cook! I love that style of cooker.

Fantastic first cook. You did a great job, especially with so many different types of meat in there.

Really nice cook, brother.

What a way to really load that pit for the first run!

I see lots of good things in your future.

Congrats on the new pit and food looks great! I had my eye one a O/U but the back fire box did not fit for my designated area, looking forward to more future pron

Yep, that's how you do it, great job.

Did you reverse sear the tri tip over the coals in the firebox?
