Ok brothers I have not used my smoker in some time and needed to clean i sprayed it down with easy off grill cleaner, then I read don't use in inside only on grates I rinsed it off fairly well. Will it be good to go for tomorrow? I have two butts and a chicken going on for my kids birthday party.

I can't speak for others, but I would preburn and preburn it hot. Oven cleaner is nasty stuff and I'm guessing there is still some left that found its way into grease and has stuck. It's not worth making others ill at a birthday party. I'm of the belief that a scraper followed by a hot fire is a superior cleaning method than chemicals. Good luck and Happy Birtday!

I've used oven cleaner several times when I had mold n rancid grease. Just do a thorough super rinse and a burn then reseason. People use it their ovens ALL the time........

Do a cpl hour burn then reseason tonite n cook tomorrow.

I clean the inside of my 18 year old Weber kettle with a straight edge razor blade looks brand new it takes off everything but the porcelain nothing left but a shiny bowl

you'll be fine after the reburn. fire does great things.

my routine:
weed burner. pressure hose. re-season if needed. weed burner if not. wipe off any excess with wet rag.

not much of anything except clean metal after I'm done.
