I've got a 24x42 cabinet style patio with a 3 shelf warmer. I'm processing a ton of wood that I've gotten. What size splits do people use in their Shirley?

I don't worry about the length just the thickness.:tape: depending on how seasoned they are I may re-spit them. I say try a few different thicknesses and see which burns cleaner. I know a lot will say coke can thickness so maybe go a little thicker and see. You can always go skinnier if they smolder. Thinner will light faster and burn faster. Thicker will smolder a little but burn longer.

I'm currently shopping for my first quality smoker and the Shirley 24x42 is top of my list. What is the temperature difference between the cook chamber and warmer? I'm trying to decide if i need/want the warmer option and what i could use it for. So far i've spent more time researching smokers than I did my car. I appreciate any advice you can offer.

I keep different size diameter splits 16" in length and chunks for fire control .
