Default Planning a trip to the Jack!

My buddies and myself at work planned a trip to MIM last may and had a blast! Now we are planning a trip to Lynchburg, TN the last weekend of October. We received great information about the MIM and was hoping to get some information for the Jack Daniel's trip. We are planning to visit on Saturday. Are the awards on Saturday and around what time? Looking forward to the trip! Any information would be great. Thanks!

You might want to start here: http://www.jackdanielsbarbecuemedia.com/
For Lynchburg area info look here: http://www.lynchburgtn.com/

Be advised that the award ceremony at the Jack is infamously long - usually it takes over two hours. The Jack is not the gigantic party that MIM is, so if that's your scene you will be disappointed. (Remember Lynchburg is a dry town).

The hollow is a special place to be in late October, with an amazing laid-back energy rarely felt at BBQ events. If you go into it with the right attitude, The Jack is an experience you won't soon forget.

Awards usually run late afternoon (after 4pm).
Friday is pretty light with visitor traffic....nice time to take a tour and walk around without the crowds.

Unless your associated to a team the Jack is very different. Unlike MiM where you can talk your way into a party or buy a VIP pass; come compition day at the Jack is watch, dont talk and certainally dont touch.

very different events, but as a competitor the Jack is where it is at
