Default UDS Fat Man Valve Question...

Gathering the parts for my first UDS build and was hoping someone could point me to a thread on the valve extension that is a threaded rod between the valve body and the handle. Went to the big box today asking for an extension rod and they looked at me like I was nuts.

Also, how do I deal with a warped lid? I see where some have used a hinge/clamp. Any ideas or suggestions? Sources?

Thanks.

unbolt original handle, attach (weld, jb weld, red loctite) a threaded coupler to the ball valve where you took the handle off. get piece of all thread to attach into the other end of the coupler. bolt handle at the top of the all thread.

I made mine with the valve at the botton and the rod extension. If I ever build another one I will run the pipe up and have the valve at the top. Then you can look inside the valve to see how far it is closed while making your final adjustments.
