Question Gas cooker...

Is using a gas cooker with a fire box for charcoal and wood frowned upon in the BBQ culture? BBQ competitions? Thanks!

Gas is illegal for KCBS sanctioned contests - the only heat sources allowed are wood, wood pellets or charcoal.
