Besides missing chicken turn in by like 15 seconds, we had fun. Still hard for this TX cook to piece judges score together. My brisket scores were all over the place. Did manage a 5th in pork, but accomplished 2 comp firsts in 5 years of cooing. 1st turn in missed and 1st DAL finish!

Congrats to CNB for GC. Big congrats to Woody for the RGC and congrats Mack for advancing.

Yeah, we did the 15 seconds late this year too. It sucks and I don't want that to ever happen again either.

Full Draw was on a roll and then got that blank in brisket. Feel real bad for them because the rocked the show besides that.

I've had a bunch of emails and calls from friends and a few Brethren.....thanks to all of those who reached out to us....but it is what it is!! 100% my fault, and I took full blame for it. We were in position for what looked like a second place overall, and got checks in chicken and ribs, and 10th in pork...and missed turn in for brisket by 30 seconds. Not that we were running late, or thinking we were late, heck, we were jacking around taking pictures of the brisket and all walking together.....I somehow got in my mind the IBCA or other contest timelines, and the 10 minute window on either side of the 1:30 turn in. AND I think brisket was our strongest of the bunch. Sucks because of what was at stake, with advancing in the Sam's Club tournament....but it's a mistake I'll never make again (hopefully). It was a great time, always a great run contest, and I look forward to the next KCBS contest for us to try and hit the turn in window!!!!!!! Thanks Brethren and congrats to all those Brethren who walked and good luck moving on!!!!!
