Phoenix, AZ next week
Will be in Phoenix Monday till Thursday next week. Any good eats there; does not have to be BBQ. I always enjoy trying local places.

Well, got in about 6:30 last night and just ate at the hotel restaurant. Hard to believe they could screw up a simple chicken caesar salad... If you ever stay at the Doubletree near the airport do not eat at their restaurant. Had to drive to Tucson for a meeting this afternoon and got back late. Went to Gordon Biersch in Tempe for a couple of beers and dinner. Food and beer was both good. Not sure what I'll try tomorrow. Looks like no Brethren in Arizona...

Head over the one of hundreds of Los Betos and get yourself a baseball bat sized burrito. The carnitas tacos are real good too. Honestly any mexican dump around there is good. The mexican population is so large that crappy spots don't last very long.

When I'm in Tucson, La Parrilla Suiza is where I most like to go. It's Mexico City style Mexican food. They have a place in Phoenix.

Not knowing what your tastes are..
Cafe Boa on Mill Street was a favorite place of mine when I lived there. The Berkshire Osso Buco over Polenta was usually out of this world. Its a seasonal place so not always on the menu. |
