Just Scored a 55 Gallon Drum YEA!

I just scored a 55 gallon drum from a local farm implement dealer free and in good shape. It has the top cut out. I was wondering about a 22 1/2 inch weber dome. The drum itself is 22 1/2 round but may have to tweak it a bit in a few places. Where does the lip start on the weber dome at 22 1/2 or is it slightly larger.? Really glad I found this forum. You guys rock!!!!!!
 
If the drum is truly 22.5" diameter, a weber dome or any knock off dome lid should fit perfectly. My drum was 22 5/8", and the weber lid was super tight.
 
Perfect that is what I needed to know at one point my measurement is 22 5/8 thats where I might have to tweak it a bit. Thanks for the reply!!

Id love to but I need to get some parts put together plus my wife has a big honey do list this weekend. But soon and I will take pics step by step and it might take awhile with reading the small paerback of directions and tips.

Ok here is what you do, build the smoker and put a butt on with maybe a fatty or two, then work on the honey do list:thumb:
 
Tell her if the honey do list wasn't so long, YOU would be cookig dinner this weekend :thumb: See how that works !!!!
