Default Help! Where can I get metal barrels in northeast PA?

I need some help from the Brethren out there. I have been dying to make a UDS for some time now. My problem is I can't find any where to get a barrel at. I've looked on craigslist for my area and the closest one is almost a hundred mile drive. I've tried local companys and they either don't have any or they won't sell to the general public. I never thought scoring a barrel would be such a FARKIN' pain! So, I could use some help especially from the brethren in and around northeast PA. I'm ten miles outside of Hazleton if that helps at all.

I get mine from a heavy truck dealership, any barrel containing grease or petroleum will work, they are usually unlined and have a removable top. You may have to pay them what their deposit on the barrel would be. I'm originally from Luzerne Co. I seem to remember a bulk oil distributor in Hazleton, you might check with them as well.

Grease Monkey or other oil changing places will usually sell them for the deposit (like 20 bucks).

Little bit of a ride for you, but I got mine from a local welder here in Tannersville. He gets them direct from Pocono Produce in Stroudsburg. I paid $10 bucks for mine, with the lid. He gets them by the dozen or so, scraps the lids and sells the barrels as burning barrels. Give him a call to see if he has any and ask him to save you a lid. Tell him the guys at Carl's Pool & Stove sent you ;)

I was checking these out, but what scared me off was I thought that was the dreaded red liner. Even if it is, what's the easiest way to remove them?

I get mine for free from the local Tire America/NTB. They set them out back for me. The manager said if I don't take them, they have to pay to get rid of them. They ae closed top drums, so I have to use webber lids, which are hard to find around here. FROPEN TOP DRUMS< I go to a local recycling place and buy them for $14 each. You might try those types of places.

I really appreciate the offer. I'm about 80 miles north from you. If all else fails I might just take you up on it.

Sorry it took so long to answer had a busy weekend... Not sure if they do but give them a call if you haven't already. If it wouldn't cost so much to ship I would give you mine.
