Got to do my first official church bbq for our book store parking lot sale this past saturday. Got there at 7:30 am and was smoking till about 2. We made 9 slabs of spares including all the trimmings and 72 scotch eggs. We had a light turn out but still managed to raise some money for the missions team. All 9 slabs were cooked all at once in my new Masterbuilt XL smoker and my old smoker had egg duty all day. Here are a few pics my sister took. Wish I had more but I was pretty busy all day.

Nice! Gimme a holler next time - if I can, I'll come down & support :hungry:

Looks mouthwatering!

When I moved to Colorado, I had a conversation with a fellow Texas transplant about how I'd never been to a church where the men's ministry didn't have a pit trailer. I still think we could use one!

Looks like you did a GREAT JOB!!!

When I joined my church we didn't have a pit either... The church still doesn't, but they have me... lol

I cook for churches and Homeless Min organizations often
Very rewarding

Food looks real good.
And a great cause.
You will find each time will get more of a turnout as word spreads
Be prepared to get a bigger cooker

My brother and I just cooked for a church fundraiser too. Had a blast, always nice to give back a bit. Nice work Brother!

I've been cooking for our Feed the Hungry team for over a year now. Every month I load up my Lang, 50 pounds of chicken quarters and cook them at the church. We are feeding around 100-120 every Monday and Thursday. The church provides the sides and I do the chicken. It isn't much but at least once a month I get to enjoy cooking for some people that have little or nothing.

Thanks for the great idea. I haul my smoker trailer up to the Poconos every September to cook for the men's retreat but hadn't thought of doing a fund raiser.

Awesome. Looks good. For some reason when it talks about sacrifices being a sweet smelling aroma to the Lord in the Bible I think of BBQ. :-D

Then you shall cut the ram into pieces, and wash its entrails and its legs, and put them with its pieces and its head, and burn the whole ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD. It is a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.
