Been gone for over a week at deer camp. Came home last Monday to get wifes Blazer into the shop....another nightmare.

Smoked a 6# pork butt and 2 plain fatties on Turkey Day. Had family over late Thursday nite.

Last 2 nites we made p/pork sammies on Hoagie buns w/melted cheese.
They sure tasted awesome. Rest of p/pork went into my bean and barley soup I created this afternoon.

Assembled and sauced w/sauce my friend gave me. It is from Minnesota and tastes great. Also baked some acorn squash.
Perfect meal wife Dotty said.

Thank's for looking.

Looks finey fine! Hope that Blazer is too. So what's the deal with that bean and barley soup...hmmm?

Looks great, I got a pork butt in the freezer thats starting to sound good. Do you have any good smoked venison roast recipes or not a good idea because they are to lean?

Bean and barley soup........bought the navy beans at the local elevator, home grown.

Boiled then simmered them, drained and rinsed. Fresh water and simmered them again. Rinsed the barley for an hour.
Had some left over ham, cubed that up and tossed in the pot.
Added some onion, white pepper, garlic and 3 bay leaves.
Simmered a couple of hours.
Added left over pulled pork this evening and simmered another hour.
Wife tasted it and said it was seasoned perfectly.
Will eat part of it, freeze the other half for future meals.

Cheap and flavorfull meals!

Did the wife starve while you were gone

Just asked the wife and she said.....Pretty Much.
She is a good cook, just doesn't cook for herself.

Cereal was her meals while I was away.
