Default I need a New Gasser.

Man I hate that Char-broil I have. It was cheap from Lowes but I got what I paid for. I grilled some sausages last night for The Wife and I and couldn't burn those things if I wanted to. My Wife likes hers almost burnt. I had it on the highest setting and left them on there for 30 minutes and she was disappointed that they weren't cooked enough (it was dark outside BTW). It'll have to wait till after Christmas but I wanted to get a head start on my homework. So for around $500.00 or less what would You all recommend?

The grill may not be the problem.

Try turning all the control knobs on the grill to the OFF position.
Now, turn on the propane tank...about 1/2 turn of the knob is good.

Now turn the burner on HIGH that is furtherest away from the tank and
light it....next turn the burner on that is second furtherest away from the tank
and so on.....until all burners are lit.

Also make sure your propane tank isn't about empty.

I feel your pain. I had the same char broil issue. I found two weber gassers on craigslist, one a lp version, and this exact one that is near you:

http://boise.craigslist.org/fuo/1476504529.html

I would strongly consider a used weber gasser. There are a lot of them out there, and they can be had for cheap. My LP version rockets over 600 in 15 minutes here in cold salt lake city. It only cost 60 bucks. I love that people are wasting big money on worthless SS boxes, it leaves the high quality used webers on the cheap for us.

What Grillman said...If you turn on your burner valves first then open the valve on the propane bottle all gassers have a "safety" valve that prevents the burners from getting hot. The proper method is:

1. burner valves off.
2. open the propane tank valve
3. open the burner valves and light

Try this first before you go out and buy a new one.

Oh and if you do buy a new one, Weber is definately the best...

Broilmaster .... the cast iron grates rock and the cast aluminum body will last forever. I used a 25yr old hand-me-down for a few years before ordering a new one about 5 years ago.

Noticed an awful lot of nice webers on CL lately, thats my plan when my nexgrill goes. which I do like, 4 tube burners, stainless grates, side burner, rotisserie with back burner, the only thing I don't like is the ignition, use the match method now, bought at costco for $399, GOOD LUCK

The problem with the Char-broil is one I've always had although it does seem worse the older it gets. It's always had a couple of spots on it that cooked ok while the rest of the cooking area takes forever to cook on. It's old anyway. Somehow the bottom is giving out and it's hard to remove the grease trap. I'm eying those Webers!

A friend recently bought a Weber Genesis E310 and loves it, but it is over your $500 budget. The Weber Spirit line is under $500. Broilmaster also makes some good grills, but I don't think they have any in your price range.

If you have patience you can probably find a deal on Craigslist.

Yep, patience will pay off on CL if you can wait...got his one FREE off the sidewalk where it had been abandoned like an abused pet. Now it has a loving home. (That's just dew you see on the lid.)
Weber.

That one is tempting. I'm somewhat of a plumber and could string a gas line under the house to the backyard.
