Moving to fast

lighter than a kamado or stick burner so easier to transport
more capacity than a kettle or many side offsets under $1000
maintains temp better than a pellet cooker when using a controller, and just as easy to run, and you dont have to have electricity to run it if not using the controller
far more efficient than a stick burner

I think they are best at being dirt cheap and still proven to be quite capable at winning competitions all over the country :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Dirt cheap? They use a Gateway, bro. They are winning the competition with Cup cars while you are rolling in the street with your Ford Fiesta. Big difference. But it is cute you think you are on the same team.

holy crap batman, that didn't dawn on me, i will get around to that, thanks

Lol at the terrible analogy

Of course you would think gateway is better than homebuilt.

From what you keep bringing up, that's what is winning comps. Not a home made UDS made with the cheapest chit you can get away with.

Lololol. So that's why you had that mcsmoker built. Because you keep equating price with quality.

One day you'll get it

It’s quantity. I know you don’t understand but keep telling yourself your UDS produce the best Q out there.

I hope one day you get it... the brethren way is not to antagonize each other. We support not tear down. While you have a lot of valid points and ideas i wish you could do it in a friendlier manner... you know... like a brethren. Now let's all smoke a fatty or have another beer.

me and czar are just ribbing each other. he says i couldnt cut it on a stick burner, then i say he bought a mcsmoker, then we go back and forth. its all good fun i think :thumb:

In the interest of completely ruining the family dinner, I think everyone should state their religious, political, and sexual preferences and identify one group of people who should be removed from the country. (Face in palm)

Oh, go to he**!

Well no one could say you didn't run it full circle. If you enjoyed it you would have worked to figure it out, you didn't, and that is OK. I think you do have to really enjoy the process of stick burning. Personally if I'm running my off set overnight I really don't mind setting my alarm every hour and getting up and tossing in a log but it takes a while to get there and have the confidence in your pit and how it runs and to know how your wood is going to burn. It's process that takes time to master, you don't get there if you don't enjoy that process. I'm glad you figured that out and are owning it.

You should not have to babysit and throw a stick of wood on a good stick burner every 15 to 30 minutes. It drives me nuts when I see people writing about how hard stick burning is and how they have to babysit their cooker every 15-30 minutes which steers them away from stick burning. If that's what you are having to do, then your cooker is a bad design and bad build. If I am in a pinch and want to get some rest on a long smoke, I will stick burn for the first 5 or 6 hours with nothing but wood. Thats using about 7 or 8 (roughly 10") splits of wood. I will start with 2 or 3 to get it going and feed 1 every hour. When its time to get some rest, load the basket up with lump.. close up the dampers down and go to bed. Get about 5 hours or so of unattended time to finish the cook and done. You get the same flavor from a full stick burn since you are smoking with wood during the critical time at the beginning of the smoke. Same bark, same texture. Its so easy.

Heck.. if you really dont want to mess with the charcoal.. just smoke with wood for a few hours and finish it in the oven. It will STILL come out better than any pellet smoker out there. I honestly do not see how people who know bbq can eat that pellet smoked garbage.

So let me tell you how I really feel about pellet smokers. lol
