This is one of the best threads I've read through in some time. Watching everything unfold has been a real treat - glad you all were able to connect and share great times, great food, and great company!

Yes George it is an awsome thread and it has been a very satisfying read, kudos to Paul & Sharon and the whole Shirley crew, Matt has taken us all to school on how to cook & throw a shindig and Chris & wife could not be two more deserving recipients. Just makes me proud to be a small part of this crew

I see all kinds of little details now, the easing of the edges around the fire box opening, the reinforcing rod at the baffle edge, the clean edges on all the steel.

after all the crap lately this thread is just awesome. Restores faith in this place as well as people in general. anyone who has ever met the Shirleys is probably not surprised one bit by them giving a cooker to a veteran. It's not even the 1st time they have donated cookers to well deserving people. just makes me that much prouder to own a Shirley. then you throw in these guys cooking some amazing food, cute kids, family, friends and it just gets better and better.
