Thanks Joe - weather was nice. Cold in the morning, but the sun warmed everything up pretty well. We got a bit carried away with some bloody marys in the morning, so we were pretty fortunate to have done as well as we did. Already broke rule #1 for this year, but we'll work on it for the next comp.

Here are a few photos from the day. Was a nice day. Cold early, around 8 above I think, but got into the 30's by afternoon

Grand Champs - The Porkrastinators

Reserve Grand Brew-B-Q Sorry it was so blurry guys

Former Bears right tackle Fred Miller tried his hand at bbq competition. Very freindly guy, was nice to everyone and
was a good sport when he was awarded the DAL award....a bag of Royal Oak lump. I think he may have been last in all 4 categories

Check this one...guy converted a kitchen range and a fridge into smokers

I don't think it was your fault, Dann... I think that is the Bloody Marys...

That's about how I was seeing things after a few Blue Moons and a little Captain Morgan Private Stock... With clear ice cubes of course! ;)

OK, if this is possible. Imagine a 6' 7" Moe.... Fred is a big man. I've been in contact with him since Sunday and am going to take him under my wing for comp BBQ. He'll also be coming to my cooking class. so I guess it never hurts to have some muscle in your corner... I mean, never know when we might have a tug-o-war at a contest....
