It's good to see that added...looks like a familiar theme.

Wow! Cool! Thanks for the links Bob! I'm definitely in on the hinged grate especially for the price $16.95!

I do too, but when seeing the turkey hanger I realized I have something already that would work just as well. I've got an extra turkey from last Christmas (long story) in the freezer I need to cook. I think I'll give it a run soon.

I personally love the hinged grate idea! Much better than buying one and hacking in half! I ordered both items. I am a sucker for free shipping and all things pit barrel!

Should definitely work. I did a 13 lb turkey last year the day before Thanksgiving since we always cook an extra bird so there is enough for leftovers. One of the hooks started to fall out during the cook and almost lost it in the fire. Finished it on the grate. Will definitely be getting the turkey hanger before my next cook.

Yeah I'd be getting one too if I didn't have that hanger from my fryer. I'm gonna try it out soon.

every single store in the area, even including local slughter houses and butcher shops, will not be carrying FRESH turkeys until the second week in november. i do not want to be eating turkeys in consecutive weeks so i will be doing the first run the morning of thanksgiving. ive decided to NOT stuff the bird and start the pbc at 0400 with dinner at 11

It's so pretty I set it up in my living room and cook there. Gotta go, I'm getting very sleepy.
