Default St Louis Winter Meet-Up? Some Saturday in February?

Any interest?

Mike’s recent thread about GW meats got me thinking. We could do Beast Craft BBQ for lunch and then go a few blocks to check out GW?

Feb 8th or 15th?

Sounds like fun. Excuse my ignorance but what is GW?

I think it would be fun to meet up at the St. Louis BBQ store as well.

I can't commit for sure. Lebanon is an easy 2hr 20min drive from St Louis. Let me know when and I can see. It is hard for me to get away from the house for that long so no promises.

Oh hot damn! Just found this! This would be awesome, as long as our family's (yet-to-be-planned) trip to KC to see the cousin's new baby doesn't fall on the same day we end up scheduling this for. Beast is definitely my new favorite St. Louis BBQ restaurant (though, in all fairness, I have yet to try Hogtown, Knockout, Adam's, or Spare No Rib). I wonder if David Sandusky (the owner of Beast) would give us a tour of the smokers or do something special in that special event area they call the Skullery https://beastbbqstl.com/skullery/ .

I used to go to G&W with my dad when I was a kid. Haven't been in quite a while though. Bolyard's is another awesome local butcher shop I have been to more recently though...they might also be willing to put on some sort of class/seminar (probably for a fee though) with enough people and notice. They often host classes on breaking down a whole hog, making your own bacon, etc. Not sure if you're all wanting to make this an all-day event though, or just a couple hours?

I come to this site almost every day, but I rarely even look at any forum section other than Q-Talk. But this thread doesn't even show up to me in the Brethren Bashes forum. All I see there are the 2 stickied threads, one for Chicago and one for Texas.
Joel, since you're St. Louis' most prolific poster, you should put a link to this thread in your signature. I'll do the same

Btw, shouldn't we call this a MEAT-up?

I've never been to g&w I've been to kenrick's ,matekers, at work we always go somewhere every few weeks and we have lunch. Adams is my favorite they are so freaking good. The shop where I work is right off of Manchester in Maplewood area so we are not far from Adams but wherever you guys would like to meet I am there! The other supervisor to work with me is from Michigan but lives in Illinois he's a smoker guy he's got to Pecos . Smoking Barrels BBQ in the city and in Fenton I've been the ball for pretty good. Pappy's is great Daly's off of big Bend Road and Dougherty Ferry is excellent on Thursdays with their brisket French dip! Jesus is good, the barbecue store is one of my favorite spots. I'm a big beef jerky guy, love finding a good butcher that makes good jerky. Big in a cast-iron also,

My family doesn't have anything planned yet. So for now I'll say I could do the 8th. The 15th might conflict with some people's Valentine's Day plans? Idk

Anyone else?
