I use Bubs firestarter cage available on Hunsaker's alternate site amazingsmokers.com. Link to pic:
https://amazingsmokers.com/collectio...ucts/bub-cages Chunks of wood on one side and the wax starter cubes on the other. Long controlled burn. Otherwise I use cubes on top but I like the cage better. I find it is more consistent.

I don't know if you ever get on Facebook, but they have a very active Fans of Hunsaker group there. Please post some pics when you get it up and running! I've been very tempted to buy one myself.....
