Has anyone tried using the hardwood from a Kentucky coffee tree in their smoker?

I have one in the back yard and am curious if anyone has tried using it?

No sorry never even heard of it but, very interested in the answers. I just got a bunch of magnolia wood for free and had found it's a sweeter smoke and smells of cotton candy when it burns. Going to make logs into chunks for WSM and MB560.

A quick look sez you can toast the nuts for a coffee like beverage but the seeds and pods are toxic if not roasted, no thanks I will pass, not sure something dont leave poison in my food, im sure somebody somewhere has but I dont eat monkey brains either lol

Yes but only the leaves and seed pods are considered poisonous. The tree itself is not.

Nature contains lots of toxins many are blissfully unaware of.

A few common examples: rhubarb, apple seeds, lima beans too name just a few.
